Annyeong, Korea!

It all started when I decided to watch Descendants of the Sun last year, which, by the way, I was able to finish in just two days (not really sure if that is something I should be proud of haha). It easily brought back my obsession to kdramas. So now, I can’t seem to stop! And because of that, I have been longing to go back to Korea. Reminds me of our trip a couple of years back!

Can someone bring me back to Korea please?

Disclaimer: Forgive me. I’ll be making a lot of kdrama references on this post!

DAY 1

Our first lunch in Korea—legit samgyeopsal! Had Kim Bok Ju’s squad taught us their BFN (barbecue, fried rice, naengmyeon) technique a little earlier, I could’ve made the most out of this k-bbq experience. Haha!

After having lunch, we went skiing. We rented suits in a shop nearby. Skis, boots, and poles were rented in the resort. It was a first time experience for most of us. Luckily, our tour guide was kind enough to teach us how to ski. Jan Di feels!

It was very tiring! Takoyaki for some quick snack!

DAY 2

On our second day, we took a day trip to Suwon.

We strolled round Hwaseong Fortress. According to history, this 5.74km long wall was built way back in Joseon Dynasty to honor and house his executed father’s remains. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.

And then we went strawberry picking at the farm. Korean strawberries are the sweetest!

Kimchi School Korea

After which, we learned how to make kimchi!

Where there’s theme park, there’s us! Haha! We love amusement parks! This one was at Everland. Some rides were closed though ’cause of the heavy snow.

On our third day, we went to see the Gyeongbokgung Palace. This was the main royal palace used in Joseon Dynasty, which ended about over a century ago. According to our tour guide, this was used as a filming location for Jewel in the Palace. Old school kdrama! Haha!

On our way to shopping heaven!

We spent the rest of the afternoon strolling around Myeongdong. And in the evening, we watched Jump!, a comic martial arts performance. This is highly recommended! It was very entertaining.

Before going back home, we still had time to go to Lotte World. I remember riding Gyro Swing! It is a giant pendulum that swings at 180 degrees. Can’t believe we survived it on a freezing weather!

We were also able to squeeze in a visit to N Seoul Tower. It reminded me of an episode from Boys Over Flowers where Gu Jun Pyo and Jan Di were stuck inside a cable car overnight. We rode that cable car! Haha! We also checked the Teddy Bear Museum and had lunch at the tower before heading to the airport.

Our trip to Korea will always be unforgettable to me. It was my sisters and I’s first ever white Christmas! Fun times!

I’m really hoping to go back someday. See you again some time soon, Korea! *finger heart*
